CountryMark Makes New Product Announcement
- February 19, 2010

CountryMark announced today the introduction of CountryMark Advantage™ Lubricants.

CountryMark and CountryMark members have made lubricants available to their customers since the 1940s, but this is the first time in company history that the farmer-owned cooperative has put its name on its lubricant products.

“As we looked at the opportunity to private label lubricants, we saw it as an opportunity to be more responsive to the lubricant needs of our customers today and be better prepared to meet future customer needs as the engine manufacturers implement EPA-required changes,” said CountryMark CEO and President Charlie Smith.

The new line of CountryMark Advantage Lubricants will include heavy duty diesel engine oils, premium tractor hydraulic fluid, hydraulic oils, transmission fluids, gasoline engine oils, gear oils, and greases.

“The breadth and scope of this line is really impressive, and we’re excited about sharing the details of our complete line with the ag, construction, as well as bus and truck fleet communities,” said Jon Lantz, CountryMark Vice President of Marketing. “As we began developing this line of lubricants, we sat down with our team and asked them what the marketplace needed today and what they anticipated it would need in the future. Our product line is the wish list of every person who has ever spent a day responsible for equipment maintenance.”

Diesel engine oils are CountryMark’s number one selling lubricants product, and the CountryMark team spent a great deal of time formulating the perfect blends for their customers.

“There are a couple of features in the Advantage SAE 15W-40 heavy duty diesel engine oil that we are really excited to have – features we have never had before,” said CountryMark Lubricants Manager Dennis Mungle. “For one, the base stock on this product is a higher quality than we’ve had in the past. We also added enhanced viscosity modifiers, which will allow the oil to last longer and extend the time between oil drains.”

“Our passion is to sell you less oil,” said CountryMark Lubricants Specialist Joe Rollins. “Through CountryMark’s Total Analysis lube scan program, we can demonstrate to engine owners how Advantage heavy duty diesel engine oils last longer. That means less downtime, less oil to purchase and more savings for you.”

CountryMark Advantage Lubricants are blended in Indiana and are like no other lubricants on the market today.

“As we began working on our formulations, our blender assured us that the formulations we selected would be unique to CountryMark,” said Mungle. “We really drew on the unique industry experiences we have within our farmer-owned cooperative.  CountryMark has 70-plus years of refining American fuels and taking care of some of the country’s hardest working people and their equipment.”

“The quality of these lubricants is exactly what you would expect from CountryMark,” said Smith. “Our fuels and lubricants are a great match, and we’re eager to demonstrate that in the field.”

CountryMark is a farmer-owned cooperative and is Indiana’s only American-owned oil refining and marketing company. In addition to its corporate offices in Indianapolis, the company operates a refinery in Mount Vernon and terminal locations in Mount Vernon, Switz City, Jolietville, and Peru, Ind., as well as Henderson, Kentucky. CountryMark member cooperatives distribute CountryMark fuels and lubricants in and around the state of Indiana. In addition to delivered energy products, these cooperatives operate 90 fuel stations in Indiana and surrounding states. CountryMark is recognized as a nationwide leader in the distribution of biofuels such as biodiesel and ethanol.
