In 1938, the discovery of crude oil—and a gusher at that—near Mount Vernon, Indiana, gave local farmers and co-op owners a vision: Energy security and independence through the production of high-quality fuels that deliver power, performance and protection. This vision became a reality. Our first refinery was built and began processing 2,000 barrels per day
Fast-forward several decades. That same refinery, maintained to state-of-the art standards, now processes 35,000 barrels of local crude oil per day and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. That totals 527 million gallons of finished fuel products per year.
