Our co-op system: Local ownership and local impact.

Unlike most other fuel refiners, we’re a cooperative. CountryMark as a company is owned and controlled by member cooperatives. Each member co-op, in turn, is owned and controlled by proud local farmers and agricultural producers throughout our region. While we serve our co-op members as our valued customers, our individual co-op members’ products and services are available to the general public. You don’t need to be a member to do business with one of our cooperatives.

Want to go a bit deeper into how our business model works and why it works well? Once a local cooperative’s financial obligations are met, profits are returned to individual members in the form of patronage (equity or cash refund payments). This patronage is distributed in proportion to the volume of business an individual does with the co-op. In this way, the profits of CountryMark remain in local communities where the dollars support local economies.

On the product side of things, CountryMark supplies fuel to member cooperatives in Indiana that distribute this premium quality fuel through a network of more than 100 retail fuel stations, as well as more than 200 petroleum tankwagon and transport routes. CountryMark AdvantageTM Lubricants are distributed to member cooperatives. Through this distribution network, CountryMark fuels and lubricants are delivered daily to individuals, companies, farms and government entities throughout Indiana and neighboring states.
