INDIANAPOLIS, December 4, 2023 – CountryMark recently named Ada Cuadrado as vice president of operations leading the company’s refining, project management, regulatory and safety organizations.
“The next several years are pivotal to the success of CountryMark as we have an ambitious long-range plan that requires focused engagement from all employees,” said Matt Smorch, CountryMark president and chief executive officer. “With Ada joining the organization, new organizational assignments have been made for the CountryMark Executive Leadership Team that will help align work processes, support our key initiatives, and assist in developing future leaders.”
Cuadrado comes to CountryMark with 30 years of industry experience. Her successful educational background as a chemical engineer provided her with opportunities to begin her career as a process engineer at Sunoco and Citgo facilities. As she progressed, her ability to understand, communicate and facilitate technical capabilities with operational excellence led her to technical and operational leadership roles at both Sunoco and Shell. Most recently, Cuadrado served as the operations director for Celanese Chemicals in Clear Lake, Texas. In this position, she led a multi-disciplined organization at Celanese’s largest global site.
“Ada’s technical background, leadership experience and personal values are a great fit for CountryMark and I am looking forward to her joining our Executive Leadership Team,” Smorch added.
Cuadrado replaces Kim Smock on CountryMark’s Executive Leadership Team. Smock announced her retirement for January of 2024.
“Over the past four years under Kim’s guidance, the Refining organization has continued to make significant improvements in safety, reliability and operational excellence,” said Smorch. “Her leadership has positioned CountryMark for success and her focus on reliable service, process improvement and innovation exemplify CountryMark values.”
