CountryMark’s Fueling Freedom raises over $65,000 for local military families

Jul 6, 2023

CountryMark’s Fueling Freedom events on June 30 raised more than $65,000 to support local National Guard Solider and Family Readiness Groups (SFRG) and United Service Organizations. Across Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio, 34 CountryMark-branded fueling stations participated in Fueling Freedom 2023. For every gallon of fuel pumped, CountryMark and local branded dealers agreed to donate 50 cents to organizations with a mission of supporting local military families.

“CountryMark and our branded dealer partners are grateful to all our customers who supported these organizations with fuel purchases and generous donations,” said CountryMark Vice President of Supply & Marketing, Matt Makinson. “Excellent participation from the National Guard and branded dealer employees helped raise a new record amount!”

During the 15th annual event, CountryMark employees and CountryMark branded dealers stood side-by-side with volunteers from local National Guard SFRGs to pump locally refined, premium quality fuels for customers. In just five hours, customers purchased nearly 100,000 gallons of CountryMark fuel. Additionally, customers donated over $15,000 to support American troops and their families – this was on top of the 50 cents per gallon that CountryMark and its branded dealers provided.

The total amount raised sets a record as the highest amount ever raised during CountryMark’s fifteen years of Fueling Freedom events.

Out of 34 participating CountryMark stations, the CountryMark Busler station in Evansville, Indiana led station sales with 7,993 gallons of fuel sold during their Fueling Freedom event.

The second highest performing station was the CountryMark Spartanville station in Waltonville, Illinois with 5,908 gallons. Coming in a close third, was the CountryMark station in Osgood, Indiana with 5,551 gallons of fuel sold in just five hours.

CountryMark branded dealers who participated in the Fueling Freedom events included: AgBest, Ceres Solutions, Co-Alliance, Herdrich Petroleum Company, Laughery Valley Co-op, Premier Companies, Superior Ag Resources and SynEnergy Partners.

As a result of Fueling Freedom, United Service Organizations (USO) of Indiana and fifteen National Guard Soldier and Family Readiness Groups will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from this year’s events. Donations from each participating Fueling Freedom site were given to the organization located closest to the participating station.

Soldier and Family Readiness Groups help build National Guard unit morale, build unit retention, and increase participation levels in family-related unit activities.

United Service Organizations offer programs and services that strengthen our military service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country throughout their service. The USO is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to lift the spirits of military service members and their families.
