“We are thrilled to offer E-15 as a new, renewable fuel option available for purchase at our terminal locations,” said Matt Makinson, vice president of refining and logistics at CountryMark. “Higher octane fuels such as E-15 are a great match with CountryMark PLUS gasoline. Both are locally-refined here in the Midwest, increase energy security, decrease carbon emissions, and help to fuel the American economy.”
E-15 is a mid-level ethanol blend that is safe for use in vehicles 2001 and newer. According to Growth Energy, 90 percent of passenger vehicles on the road are compatible to fuel with E-15. The new CountryMark PLUS gasoline product will be labeled and marketed as 88 octane. Bright orange warning labels will accompany CountryMark dispensers offering E-15 noting the fuel is only to be used in vehicles manufactured in 2001 or later. Use of E-15 in vehicles built prior to 2001 can void vehicle manufacturer warranties.
“E-15, when used correctly, provides another fueling choice that consumers may see value in,” said Makinson. “Appropriate pump signage will help consumers at our branded stations select the best fuel for their automotive and small engine needs.”
In addition, CountryMark’s new PLUS 88 gasoline will be Top Tier certified. Top Tier detergent gasoline is the premier standard for gasoline performance. Drivers with CountryMark Top Tier gasoline experience benefits including: smooth running engines, carburetors free of gum formations, fuel injectors free of deposits, improved engine performance and fewer vehicle emissions.
“E-15 gasoline only adds to the CountryMark Top Tier fuel advantage by increasing octane, improving engine performance and reducing carbon emissions,” added Makinson, “CountryMark looks forward to partnering with our network of 115 fuel stations to be among the first retailers in the Midwest to make Unleaded 88 available at the pump.”
